Data Erasure and Management

Following order placement and collection, an impartial third-party expert with documented testing and assessment capabilities evaluates each unit, documenting the results in a test protocol. All data is securely erased using certified software, and devices are de-identified to ensure no information can be traced back to previous users. Comprehensive details regarding equipment management are accessible through our Itreon TakeBack Portal.

Improperly managed hardware and inconsistent data erasure processes can expose organizations to significant risks. Itreon prioritizes authorized data erasure and traceable documentation. Our processing facilities leverage extensive technical expertise and employ validated methodologies. Certified software ensures secure and verifiable data sanitization. In cases where data cannot be erased, the storage medium is physically destroyed.

Impartial Device Grading

Itreon delegates the testing of your devices to an impartial third-party provider with proven expertise. We do this to guarantee a fair assessment, consistent methodologies, traceable documentation per unit, and results that withstand rigorous scrutiny. Test protocols and grading are linked to the equipment's unique Asset ID and are available in the asset recovery portal.

A Process Built for Transparency

Our standardized grading and data erasure process is designed for complete transparency. Each device is assigned a unique Asset ID, and the entire ITAD workflow is meticulously documented from collection through erasure, grading, resale, or recycling. All stages are timestamped and logged, providing real-time data and comprehensive documentation suitable for internal control and auditing purposes.

Resale or Recycling

After grading, units are either sold or recycled. For buyback transactions, approved units are resold according to Itreon's commission model. Units that do not qualify for reuse are sent for recycling at an approved facility.

What are the costs?

Under Itreon's commission-based model, no upfront payment is required. We manage the logistics, including shipping, collection, handling, grading, and either resale or recycling of the equipment. The costs for these services are subsequently offset against the revenue generated from the sale of your decommissioned assets. Annually, we process hundreds of thousands of units, enabling us to offer highly competitive pricing for shipping, handling, and grading services.
